HAVAWOOD, is the 1st comic book made by April Hava Shenkman. Hava's comic is "alternative" just like her comedy. Not following any traditional comic form, HAVAWOOD has an unrefined, raw quality, that's completely intuitive & heart driven.  It's an autobiographical, surrealist glimpse inside the universe of Los Angeles performance artist April Hava Shenkman.April Hava Shenkman is the grand-daughter of Hollywood cartoonist Ben Shenkman, who worked for Warner Brothers, Fliesher, Disney & Hana Barbera Studios for over 50 years. Inspired by her Grandfather, Hava has been drawing for many years, but has never made a comic. Like Hava's performance world, her drawings are both autobiographical & abstract, real & surreal.
